Presidents Report: November 2021
Dear Members,
Club boat launches and activity are picking up at the club and I see many old friends returning for season. It was really nice to see almost all of our slips occupied during the summer months. We are close to 100% occupancy this year and there is a waiting list for the largest slips. Our summer maintenance projects have been completed and the club property looks great. It takes a great deal of work to keep our premises operating in a 5-star manner. Our management and staff continue to do a great job in all aspects of club performance
If this is your first winter as an owner at SHYC you are in for a wonderful season of boating and enjoying all of our amenities. As season approaches I would ask all members to review the document section of our website. It is packed full of information that will help keep you informed on rules and protocols that are vital to ensuring a productive environment for all to enjoy. The facility is running on all cylinders and we are ready for a great season of boating.

October/November Employees of The Month
Our SHYC October Employee of the Month was Ryan Kowalczyk. Ryan is one of our fine chefs and this is his first year at the club. He is an experienced and talented chef.
Our November Employee of the month is Georgette Freeman. Georgette is a bartender and server and has instantly become a favorite among our members and guests. She is wonderful at her job and has a winning personality.
The Board congratulates both Ryan and Georgette. We appreciate your outstanding effort and performance for our members.
New Menu Introduced
We are fortunate to have Adrian Boneta as our club Food and Beverage Manager who is experienced in all aspects of the restaurant business.
The club’s annual new menu made its debut on November 1st. Several new items were introduced for our appetizers, salads, lunches and dinner. If you haven’t been to the club for a while, you will see many new and positive changes. An entirely new staff, new manager and new attitude has invigorated our food service division. You can review the new menu here.
Unlike most clubs we do NOT have an annual spending obligation for our members. As I have discussed previously, in order to keep our restaurant and liquor operation in its current operational state we need the members to dine at the club when possible.

Upcoming Events and Important Dates
So that our employees can enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with their families the marina will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
Our most popular annual event of the year is our members’ “Welcome Back Christmas Party.” This year’s date will be Saturday December 11. A lavish buffet, beer, wine, and soft drinks are on the house for our owners. You will be receiving an email from Chad which will ask you for an RSVP. See you there!
Holiday Employee Contributions
Our employees work hard all year to make our marina the success tha is. As you know our club policy is no employee tipping. Christmas is the one time during the year that you can show your appreciation to our employees. You have received a letter from the club regarding your participation in this important program. Our employees and management really appreciate your generosity and want you to know that your contributions not only say “thank you for a job well done” but cumulatively make a significant difference in their lives.
Book Your Christmas and Holiday Parties
Christmas and the holiday season is always fun at SHYC. Our beautifully decorated club and festive atmosphere is a great place for your private party. Our 4th floor can accommodate parties of up to 30 persons and offers amenities not found in local restaurants such as valet parking, beautiful water views and a no tipping policy to save you money. We are already booking some parties so please call Food and Beverage Manager Adrian Boneta to reserve your special date.
Your Board of Directors’ and my mission is to offer all of our members and their guests a 5 Star Experience each time you visit the club. All aspects of club operation are important to us. If your experience in our marina boat service, food service, valet, personnel or in any facet of our club operation fails to meet your expectations, or if it is exceptional, please let me know about it. I am always available to help members in any way possible. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement.
