President’s Report: October 2025

Dear Members,

After a long, hot summer, our autumn 2025 and year 2026 season has begun. I am happy to
report that there is a lot of good news this month.

2026 will be the 20th anniversary of SHYC! Our facility has been completely rebuilt and looks
beautiful. Momentum is building across the Club—over the past two weeks, we’ve rented si
slips and now have just one large slip available. With everything trending in the right direction
and the economy showing signs of strength, we’re optimistic that this season will be one of ou
best. We’ve also planned a lively events calendar with two special events each month: our
always-popular Italian Night and a rotating, creative feature night to keep things fresh and fun.
A return of our member fun run and boat trips will also remain part of our seasonal offerings.
There may be other surprises we are still working on.

Our website, https://shycfl.com/, has been refreshed and is packed with essential, meaningful
content. We encourage all of our members to visit it.

The dredging of our marina entrance and basin has begun! Things are moving quickly, and we
hope to have the job completed in less than 30 days. Over 700 metric tons of sand will b
removed. Management is keeping a very watchful eye on the process. The day after the project
is completed, we will have an immediate Bathymetric study done to ensure that the process
has removed the proper amount of sand and debris from the basin. If the study confirms that,
we will make the final payment to the dredge company. Barring any unexpected events, the
dredging should last 3 to 5 years.

New Season hours for our bar and restaurant will begin on November 1st. We are excited to
launch our new menu on that date. This will be our most ambitious menu yet! There are over
45 items to choose from. We have NEW menu items for appetizers, lunch, and dinner, along with
our delicious salads and daily specials. I also want to remind all of our members who enjoy
fishing that we offer you a great deal when you return from your day on the water. After you
filet the fish at our filet stations, our chefs will cook the fish to your liking and add a vegetable
and rice for only $10 per person. Many of our members have enjoyed this service for years,
with as many as 15 or more guests. Don’t forget we have happy hour every day from 5-7pm
except on Monday and Tuesday.

For the benefit of all, it is important that members patronize our bar and restaurant services.
We have excellent chefs, attentive staff, and an outstanding food and beverage manager with
over 30 years of experience across all phases of restaurant service and management. With the
Christmas season ahead, we have a private party space available for up to 30 people for any
occasion. Our no-tipping policy, valet parking, and waterfront setting make us the perfect place
for your parties and meetings. We look forward to seeing you at the club this year.

Thank you to the members who supported our sneaker project supporting Lee County Foster
Children. Many children arrive in foster care with very few possessions. A new pair of sneakers
brings some joy into their lives.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Our employee of the month for October is Kicker Brown. Kicker is an accomplished chef who
has been with us for over 10 years. He is the recipient of multiple Employee of the Year awards
for his on-the-job excellence. Congratulations, Kicker, on a well-deserved honor.

In closing, I want to thank our members for their continued support, our management and staff
for the outstanding job they do every day, and our exceptional Board of Directors, who
continue to work for the benefit of our members. As most of you are aware, the Board of
Directors is composed of volunteers. We receive no compensation other than the satisfaction
of serving on the Board of a 5 Star Yacht Club and making and enforcing policy. Our Board
consists of retired individuals who have operated their own successful businesses for many
years, with skills perfectly matched to those needed to make policy and manage the marina
successfully.

Hope to see you all soon, and once again, God bless America

Sincerely,
Peter Mazzagatti, President
Sanibel Harbour Yacht Club
