Step Hull Policy
Latent Defects in Step Hulls Policy
As you know step hulls have a latent defect in their construction consisting of air pockets. Air pockets in hulls greatly decrease its strength. The smallest amount of pressure can break the hull apart. The Board of Directors has instituted a policy that relieves the association from liability if a latent defect is discovered in a step hull. If we discover damage on a step hull we will get it inspected by a professional and if determined to have a latent defect it will be the owner’s responsibility to either pay for its repair or contact the manufacturer to file a complaint. If no defect is detected and damage is from negligence like always the association will pay for its repair.
